We have had another busy term. We had a fantastic time at Slimbridge and the children have written recounts about our day and what we learnt. The children have made some fantastic improvements to their writing this term and most of them are joining their letters and thinking about the size they need to be along with their presentation. I am very proud of them. Many of the children have shared their writing with Mrs Benion.
The children have enjoyed this terms work in science and finding out about animals that hatch from eggs and those that have live young. They are able to identify insects, birds, fish, mammals, reptiles and amphibians by their different features. They learned that dolphins are in the mammal group!
In Maths the children are using their place value knowledge to help them solve addition and subtraction problems involving two-digit numbers. We have been doing lots of mental maths work on finding two numbers that make 20 and finding patterns to help recall these quickly.
This week is parents evening and I am looking forward to sharing all that your children have achieved as well as chatting about how you can help them take their next steps in their learning.
